Event Troubleshooting & FAQ

This page covers common issues and quick fixes across Events: creating/publishing events, public event pages, attendance, and post-event surveys.

Time & timezone

The event time looks wrong

Possible causes

  • The event timezone is set incorrectly.
  • Your account/browser timezone differs from the event timezone display rules.

What to do

  • Re-check the event Start/End time.
  • Confirm how your organization handles timezone (explicit timezone field vs organization default).
  • If your workflow serves attendees in multiple regions, always verify the time on the Public Event Page.

Publishing & visibility

I created an event but can’t find it

Possible causes

  • You’re filtering to the wrong date range (e.g., Upcoming vs Past).
  • You’re viewing Calendar mode on a different month/week.
  • The event is saved as draft and hidden by filters (workflow-dependent).

What to do

  • Switch between List and Calendar views.
  • Check the dropdown (e.g., Upcoming Events) and adjust filters.
  • Search by event title.

The Public Event Page isn’t visible / doesn’t look updated

Possible causes

  • The event is not published (status not in a public state).
  • Content was saved but not published (workflow-dependent).
  • Cached browser view.

What to do

  • Confirm the event is in a published state (e.g., “On Sale” / “Published”, depending on your setup).
  • Refresh the public page and verify the section content.
  • Double-check that the content section is enabled and not empty.

Links (Meeting URL / Registration URL)

Attendees can’t find the meeting or registration link

Possible causes

  • Links were not added to the event.
  • Links are buried in long text and not easy to spot.
  • Visibility rules hide fields from public viewers (configuration-dependent).

What to do

  • Add Meeting/Registration links in the designated fields (if available).
  • Also surface critical links in the top-most visible area (e.g., summary or a prominent content block).
  • Verify in the Public Event Page what an attendee will actually see.

Attendance (view-only page)

I can’t edit anything on Attendance

This is expected. The Attendance page is a read-only reporting view in your setup.

What to do

  • Use Attendance to filter and review records and open View contact when needed.
  • If a record needs correction, update it through the appropriate workflow in your organization (admin/registration/import/event workflow).

I see duplicates for the same person

Possible causes

  • Test data or multiple registrations.
  • Separate records created by different workflows.

What to do

  • Open View contact to confirm whether the records map to the same contact.
  • Clean up duplicates using the workflow your org supports (permission-based).

Surveys (templates, attaching, and responses)

My survey template doesn’t show up in the event dropdown

Possible causes

  • The template is in Draft.
  • You don’t have access to that template (permission-based).

What to do

  • Set template Status = Active.
  • Confirm you have permission to view/use templates.

Survey Responses shows “No responses yet”

Possible causes

  • No one submitted the survey.
  • The event has no post-event survey attached.
  • The survey is not being collected yet (workflow-dependent).

What to do

  • Confirm the event has a Post-event survey selected.
  • Confirm attendees have completed the survey (or the collection window is active).
  • Check Attendance to confirm who attended and whether responses are expected.

Startup-scoped questions don’t appear (or appear unexpectedly)

Possible causes

  • The template includes Startup (per presenting startup) questions but the event has no startups attached.
  • The event has startups attached, but the template has only common questions.

What to do

  • If you want startup-level feedback, attach startups to the event and include startup-scoped questions.
  • If you only want event-level feedback, keep questions in Common scope.

Sponsors, images, and formatting

Sponsor logos look messy or inconsistent

What to do

  • Use square logos where possible and keep consistent dimensions.
  • Avoid low-contrast or transparent logos on light backgrounds.
  • Prefer high-resolution images.

Images/videos don’t display on the public page

Possible causes

  • Unsupported format or blocked external link.
  • Section is not enabled or content wasn’t saved/published.

What to do

  • Try a standard format (PNG/JPG for images).
  • Verify the section is enabled and visible on the Public Event Page.

Permissions & missing actions

I don’t see buttons like Create/Edit/Survey Templates

Possible causes

  • Permission restrictions for your role.
  • Organization configuration disables that feature.

What to do

  • Ask an admin to confirm your role permissions.
  • Verify the feature is enabled for your organization.
